How to test the performance of lithium batteries?

by:Vglory      2021-05-13
Lithium battery performance test method Lithium battery is a product that requires high quality and high safety. Consumers often don’t know the performance of the battery when using it. As a result, the efficiency of the battery during use is often not up to the ideal goal, and sometimes it will be used blindly. In the event of a battery explosion, life safety will also be impaired, so it is important to know the performance of the battery. Method 1: Self-discharge test The self-discharge test of lithium batteries is: generally 24 hours of self-discharge is used to quickly test its charge retention capacity, the battery is discharged at 0.2C to 3.0V, and the constant current and constant voltage is charged to 4.2V at 1C. Current: 10mA, after 15 minutes of storage, discharge at 1C to 3.0V to measure the discharge capacity C1, then charge the battery at constant current and constant voltage 1C to 4.2V, cut-off current 100mA, and measure the 1C capacity C2, C2/C1 after 24 hours ×100% should be greater than 99%. Method 2: Internal resistance measurement. The internal resistance of a lithium battery refers to the resistance that the current flows through the battery when the battery is working. It is generally divided into AC internal resistance and DC internal resistance. Since the internal resistance of the rechargeable battery is very small, the internal resistance of the DC is measured. Because the electrode is easy to be polarized and the polarized internal resistance appears during resistance, its true value cannot be measured; and the AC internal resistance can be measured to avoid the influence of the polarized internal resistance, and the true internal value can be obtained. Method 3. Drop test. After fully charged, the lithium battery pack is dropped from three different directions on a hard rubber plate at a height of 1m. Do it twice in each direction. The battery pack's electrical performance should be normal and the outer packaging should not be damaged. Method 4. Impact test After the lithium battery is fully charged, place a 15.8mm diameter hard rod on the battery, and use a 20-pound object to drop from a height of 610mm on the hard rod. The battery should not explode. Fire or leakage. Disclaimer: Some pictures and content of articles published on this site are from the Internet.
