How to choose a button battery box?

For those applications where the battery may need to be replaced frequently during the expected life of the product, the durability of the battery box is particularly important. This problem will be further exacerbated if the battery box uses very high fixtures due to the added wear and tear during battery insertion and removal. If your application requires relatively frequent battery replacement, please find the number of cycles that this battery box has tested. All battery boxes should have polarity protection so that there will be no contact if the battery is incorrectly inserted. If the battery is expected to be replaced multiple times, this becomes even more important. Electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance Exposure to overheated and excessively humid environments, corrosive chemicals, or air-borne pollutants may often cause problems related to corrosion accumulation, which may negatively affect electrical performance influences. In order to minimize these effects, please choose a battery box made of corrosion-resistant materials. The presence of metals with different electrochemical properties may further aggravate the corrosion problem, leading to galvanic corrosion. By using insulators or gold plating, the influence of these effects can be minimized. Metals with good conductivity, such as gold, may bring unexpected additional advantages. They have less friction, which reduces the force during insertion. Although the housing and contact shape are important sources of force during insertion, when all other factors are the same, gold and similar materials require less force than tin and copper. The required tolerances, even for batteries with comparable performance, may vary greatly in size. For example, according to industry standards, the height of the CR2032 button battery may vary within the range of 0.3mm or 10% of the total height. Therefore, it is very important that the button battery box can adapt to normal height changes without accepting incompatible batteries. Loose connections are unacceptable because it will damage electrical performance. If the battery is installed by the manufacturer, and the designer can control the battery used, then this problem is not too serious, but if the end user can purchase a replacement battery, then it should support the entire range of battery sizes. Solderability requirements The welding process will also affect the choice of button battery boxes. For example, the button battery case to be SMT soldered should be made of high-quality LCP plastic, which can provide superior insulation strength at high temperatures and can withstand the high temperature of a lead-free reflow soldering process at 300°C. In contrast, the wave soldering process requires lower-strength materials so that PBT/Nylon plastic insulation materials can be used. This material can supply insulation strength of 560V/mil for 5s at 25℃, has resistance to chemicals and solvents, can work in a wide temperature range, has excellent thermal cycle performance, and has a minimum of 5000MOmega Insulation resistance. The wrong choice of manufacturing process materials may result in many production lines being rejected. Comprehensive product test data should be required to ensure that the button battery box meets or exceeds the ANSI/EIA-5405000 standard, and that the quality of all raw materials used is good.
