Routine inspection of electric vehicles

by:Vglory      2021-05-03
Electric vehicles are becoming more and more popular because of their convenience and environmental protection. However, few people do the inspection and maintenance of electric vehicles. So, what inspection should be done frequently for electric vehicles? The author tells you. 1. Regular inspection of appearance. The battery is usually in the engine compartment. Some well-paid batteries have a protective cover. Although the outside world will not directly impact it, if the battery is aging, there will be overheating inside and changes in cold and heat. It will cause deformation of the originally flat surface. If you notice a change in the appearance of the battery, it must be replaced. In addition to inspecting the battery in appearance, car owners can also perform self-inspection through the color changes in the circular inspection window on some maintenance-free batteries. In addition, checking the battery requires the use of some professional tools. Other more professional inspections should be carried out by professional repair shops to avoid danger. Generally speaking, the battery life cycle is about 2 years, but if the owner uses it properly, the life span can reach 4-5 years. Reminder: Generally, after 2 years of use, relevant inspections must be carried out. 2, voltage check The standard voltage of the battery in good condition should be kept between 12.2-12.7V. If the voltage is too low, it should be charged, and the battery should be kept low for a long time during charging. The battery must be charged with a professional charger. The car owner should not try to charge the battery by himself, as long as the car owner keeps the engine running, the battery can be charged. If the battery is aging, it should be replaced. Reminder: If the battery is not damaged, it can generate electricity and charge after normal start-up. 3. Electrolyte density check This is an important parameter to evaluate whether the battery is charged normally and whether it is aging. It can be measured with a density meter or an electrolyte density tester. If the electrolyte density is too small, it needs to be charged. The electrolyte concentration is too thick or too thin to a certain extent, which means that phenomena such as plate vulcanization, short circuit or overcharging have occurred, and maintenance is required at this time. Reminder: This inspection generally requires a professional technician from the repair shop to perform the inspection, and the car owner generally does not have the corresponding tools. 4. Check the battery pile head. The battery pile head is the part that connects the battery to the vehicle. Corrosion or poor connection will cause the battery to work poorly. The owner can check whether there is white powder near the pile head. Those are signs of pile head corrosion. . If there is a lot of white powder or green oxides, you can use boiling water to scald it, and then apply anti-corrosion treatment to it. Just apply some grease or antiseptic on the pile head, but be careful not to apply too much. So as not to affect the use. Reminder: This inspection must be carried out with gloves to avoid corrosion of the fingers. Regularly do the above inspections to ensure that your car can drive stably and safely, allowing you to travel further! Prev: How to maintain the battery of an electric car?
