Lithium iron battery discharge cut-off voltage and working principle analysis

by:Vglory      2021-04-24
What is the discharge cut-off voltage of the lithium iron battery? Generally, a lithium battery has a working voltage of 3.7V and a termination voltage of 3.2V; a lithium iron phosphate battery has a working voltage of 3.26V and a termination voltage of 2.5V. The voltage at which the iron-lithium battery overflows is called the termination charging voltage in the industry. According to the battery industry standard, the voltage is about 1.2 times the rated voltage. For example, for a 3.6V cell phone battery, the final charging voltage is 4.2~4.3V. The working principle of the discharge termination voltage of lithium iron battery: The nominal voltage of a single lithium iron battery is generally designed to be 3.7V, and the termination voltage is 2.75V. There are two situations that cause the manufacturer to increase the upper limit of the termination voltage to 3.0V, one is lithium The electrochemical properties determined by battery materials are often considered from the perspective of safer use of batteries; the second is related to specific electrical products and electrical environments. Of course, there are also the opposite situations. The termination voltage can be designed to be lower, such as 2.5V and 2.4V, but there is no lower than 2.4V. If the working temperature during discharging is in the range of -20~60℃, the lithium battery with a termination voltage of 2.75V can actually be discharged continuously, but it must not be lower than 2.5V. As mentioned earlier, it is between 2.75V and 2.5V. The loss between time may be partial, and the most serious damage will be caused below 2.5V, making the battery unusable. Iron-lithium battery packs also have a termination voltage. This type of lithium battery pack is sometimes called a core lithium battery. The discharge termination voltage of a core lithium battery should not be less than 2.75×n. Take the most commonly used 6-cell lithium battery for notebook computers as an example. 6-cell lithium batteries often use a combination of 3 strings and 2 parallels. Therefore, the discharge cut-off voltage of this kind of lithium battery is 2.75V×3u003d8.25V, and the minimum in practice cannot be lower than 2.5V×3u003d7.5V. In fact, because lithium batteries are relatively expensive, both single-cell lithium batteries and multi-cell lithium batteries are equipped with protection boards or protection ICs. When the voltage of the iron-lithium battery reaches the termination voltage, the battery will be sent by the electrical appliance. Certain signals, the user should keep in mind the operation method.
