Lithium battery charging and discharging requirements 1. Lithium battery charging The maximum end-of-charge voltage of a single-cell lithium battery is 4.2V, and it cannot be overcharged, otherwise the battery will be scrapped due to the loss of too much lithium ions in the positive electrode. When charging the lithium battery, a dedicated constant current and constant voltage charger should be used. First, charge with constant current until the voltage at both ends of the lithium battery is 4.2V, then switch to constant voltage charging mode; when the constant voltage charging current drops to 100mA, Charging should be stopped. 2. Discharge of lithium batteries Due to the internal structure of lithium batteries, all lithium ions cannot move to the positive electrode during discharge, and some lithium ions must be retained in the negative electrode to ensure that lithium ions can be inserted into the channel smoothly during the next charge. Otherwise, the battery life will be shortened. In order to ensure that some lithium ions remain in the graphite layer after discharge, it is necessary to strictly limit the minimum discharge termination voltage, which means that the lithium battery cannot be over-discharged. The discharge termination voltage of a single-cell lithium battery is usually 3.0V, and the minimum cannot be lower than 2.5V. The length of battery discharge time is related to battery capacity and discharge current. Lithium battery maintenance 1. Beware of deep discharge (more than 90% of the capacity) and then discharge, which will damage the lithium battery. 2. Lithium battery manufacturer Pared analyzed that due to the non-memory nature of lithium batteries, the battery pack should be charged regularly every time or every day after use. 3. If stored for more than two months, the battery pack must be fully charged; if stored for more than 5 months, a charge-discharge cycle must be performed. 4. Lithium battery manufacturers tell us to master the correct charging method. Connect the charger and the battery pack first, and then connect the charger power plug to the 220V AC power supply. Follow this connection sequence to beware of sparks when plugging and unplugging the charging plug. When the power is turned on, the charger displays a red indicator light. 5. Lithium battery manufacturers suggest that the chargers we use should be completely matched with lithium batteries. Excessive charger current will break down the lithium battery protection system and cause a short circuit, thereby causing safety accidents for the lithium battery. The charger voltage is too low, which makes the charging efficiency low and consumes too much time. Disclaimer: Some pictures and content of articles published on this site are from the Internet.
