Are acid batteries and lithium-ion batteries charged in the same way? Lead-acid batteries and lithium-ion battery chargers have different charging control methods. The difference is that the materials used are different, and the principle of discharge is also different. The charging and discharging conditions of storage batteries and lithium-ion batteries will directly affect the electrical performance and service life of the batteries. At present, there are two types of lead-acid batteries and lithium-ion batteries on the market. These two types of chargers cannot be mixed, or the batteries will be scrapped. Because the charging mode of lithium battery charger and lead-acid battery charger is different. Lithium-ion batteries are charged at constant current and voltage, and lead-acid is charged in three stages. Since lead-acid battery chargers are generally set to two-stage or three-stage charging mode, the voltage levels of lithium-ion batteries and lead-acid batteries do not match. There are also many types of lithium-ion batteries, and battery performance and battery protection board parameters may be different. Therefore, unlike lead-acid batteries, lithium-ion batteries do not have universal battery chargers. Generally speaking, lithium-ion batteries are equipped with special chargers when they leave the factory. In order to protect the lithium ion battery, a special charger is required. Li-ion battery charging control is to charge according to a constant current first, and then when the battery voltage rises to 4.2V, the voltage does not rise again, the charger tests the current, and if the current is less than a certain value, the charging ends. Lithium batteries are sensitive to overcharge, so the protection circuit is complicated. For a single cell of nominal 3.6V battery, the highest charging rated voltage is 4.2V, and the allowable upper limit of error is not more than 1%. The ideal charging current for lead-acid batteries is pulsed. For pulse charging, the direct rectification and unfiltered pulsating DC charging of the mains 50-60HZ power supply we use is the best (this is the practice when the circuit is simple and the cost is low). The self-discharge rate of acid batteries is relatively large. When power frequency charging is used, constant voltage charging is generally used (the current will definitely be limited). Lead-acid battery Lead-acid battery is a very complicated chemical reaction system. External factors such as the size of the charge and discharge current and its operating temperature will affect the performance of the battery. Calculating the SOC value of the battery and determining the operating mode of the car according to the running state of the car and other parameters is a key technology of electric vehicles. Lead-acid batteries have the longest application history, and are also the most mature and cheapest batteries, which have been processed in large quantities. But it has low specific energy, high self-discharge rate and low cycle life. Charging method: 1. Pulse charging is simple and economical. This method has a large charging current and a fast charging speed. The disadvantage is that when the grid voltage fluctuates, the charging current also fluctuates. 2. Constant current charging, in order to guard against too high temperature rise in lead-acid batteries and too much electrolyte loss, the charging current is adjusted to be relatively small, and the charging time is longer. On the other hand, if the charging time is too long, it will happen Overcharge, in order to guard against damage to the battery due to overcharge, an additional overcharge test or timing circuit is required. 3. Constant voltage charging, both theory and practice have proved that constant voltage charging is safe when the charging voltage is lower than the upper limit of the charging voltage (for 12V batteries, this value), even if the charging time is long, there is no danger. If necessary, the battery can also work in a floating charge state. Lithium-ion battery Lithium-ion battery power supply requires a matching charger. In the industrial supporting market, since each product is packaged separately and is not compatible with each other, the corresponding charger should be selected according to the lithium-ion battery pack used, and strictly follow the requirements. Recharge. Regardless of the industrial or civilian market, because the basic principles of lithium-ion battery charging are the same, the steps and standards for charging lithium-ion batteries can be regulated. Generally, the nominal voltage of lithium-ion batteries is 3.7V. The full voltage is 4.2V. Lithium-ion battery charging is divided into two stages: 1. Constant current charging, that is, the current is constant, while the voltage of the lithium-ion battery gradually increases with the charging process. According to the above specifications, it is generally charged with a current of 0.2C (C is the nominal capacity of the battery) A way to compare with the current, 0.2C is 200mA), when the battery voltage is close to the full voltage of 4.2V, change the constant current charging to constant voltage charging. This process takes about five hours. 2. Constant voltage charging, that is, the voltage is constant, and the current gradually decreases as the saturation of the cell deepens. According to the specification, when the current decreases to 0.01C or 10mA, the charging is considered to be terminated. After this process and the constant current charging time are added together, the total charging time should not exceed eight hours. Therefore, there are two criteria for judging whether the lithium ion battery has reached saturation: one is that the current is 0.01C, and the other is that the total time is no more than eight hours. In other words, if the lithium ion battery charging process still cannot reach 0.01 after eight hours C, it is regarded as a non-conforming product. The correct way to charge the lithium ion battery: 1. Charge according to the standard time and procedure, even if it is the first three times; 2. When the machine power is too low, you should try to start charging as soon as possible; 3. The lithium ion battery Activation does not require special methods, the lithium-ion battery will be naturally activated during normal use of the machine. If you insist on using the popular 'first three 12-hour long charge activation' method, it will actually not be effective.
