How to systematically realize the use of lithium batteries in low-speed electric vehicles~

Prior to this, the national standard 'Technical Conditions for Four-wheel Low-speed Electric Vehicles' was officially passed. One of the relevant policy orientations is to upgrade the power system from lead-acid batteries to lithium batteries, which has caused great repercussions in the industry. So, what opportunities and challenges will the process of lithium-ionization of low-speed electric vehicles bring? Will the upgrade of lithium batteries give low-speed electric vehicle companies an opportunity for sublimation? This issue is worth discussing. 1. The requirement to convert low-speed electric vehicles into lithium batteries There are many reasons why low-speed electric vehicles can obtain such a large application. In general, the price is limited to 2-3 million or even lower. This price range, coupled with local loose use restrictions, is the current fuel-supporting agent for the rapid development of low-speed electric vehicles. If we discuss and compare the requirements for keeping this price range unchanged, we can roughly understand the requirements of low-speed electric vehicles for battery systems: Hard requirements: The total cost of lithium batteries is equivalent to the existing cost. The performance needs of the entire lithium battery system are comparable to the current system. The power supply mode compatible with the lithium battery system needs to be similar to the current mode. From the perspective of the system structure of low-speed electric vehicles, if the following architecture is followed, it is very important to form a stable and relatively simple architecture for each component, as shown in Figure 1: The core supplier of low-speed vehicles modeled and controlled the entire system, and then handed it over to the manufacturer for assembly and construction. According to the existing system, the assembly and layout of the lithium battery system should be relatively simple. For manufacturers, it is more important to arrange the batteries according to the positions where they can be arranged. The available positions do not exceed the following three: 1. Front compartment: The power battery installed in the front compartment should pay more attention to the abuse of battery structure caused by bicycle collisions and collisions with other vehicles (structural invasion and loss, squeezing and acupuncture, etc.); 2. Under the seat: The arrangement of the power battery under the seat has stricter requirements on the flame retardancy and time delay when the battery catches fire and spreads upward; 3. The power battery is arranged in the rear compartment. The rapid development of low-speed electric vehicles is directly related to the simplification and ready-made system of the core components of the entire system. It can be seen that, in terms of control and characteristics, the component manufacturer's program dominates. 2. The safety of lithium batteries According to the 'Regulations on Fire and Rescue of New Energy Vehicles' issued by the Ministry of Public Security, due to some characteristics of lithium batteries, new features have emerged in road fire rescue. If low-speed electric vehicles cut into the lithium battery system as required, the following issues should be considered: 1. Compared with existing new energy vehicles, will the frequency of accidents increase? This comparison is mainly based on the following points: the quantity basis of low-speed electric steam itself, strict cost constraints and the time of new introduction; 2. Will the existing market demand, the time required for the entire compliance process, and the short start-up time increase risks? In the development of new energy vehicles, accidents frequently occur. Vehicle companies have become more mature in terms of accident trial and error and problem improvement, and it takes a long time to implement development and system safety verification. The promotion of high market demand for low-speed electric vehicles will greatly shorten the improvement process of related enterprises; 3. The low-speed electric vehicle market is characterized by the decentralization of the private market. If the first two are not in place, it may cause a second accident after the spontaneous combustion of low-speed electric vehicles, affecting houses or other parked vehicles. This relates to why lithium batteries should be used. There is no argument here. Formulated industry guidance policies and general directions for future development. We will follow this overall framework. It can be expected that the performance and working conditions of new energy vehicles will be reduced and reduced. However, the formulation of new energy vehicle safety national standards will incorporate the core requirements of low-speed electric vehicle safety.
