How to judge the power of the car battery?

1. Use a voltmeter to add a load to detect the storage capacity of the battery. It is difficult to accurately use the voltage block of a voltmeter or a multimeter without loading to check whether the storage of the battery is sufficient. When measuring voltage alone, the current consumption is very small, so there is no large voltage drop inside the battery, so the display voltage is not low, but if you add a considerable load, such as turning on the headlights (load current 10-15A), press The horn (load current 6-12A), the battery will dim the light and the horn will be hoarse, thus indicating insufficient power storage. The correct and reliable detection method is to connect the starter on the vehicle to detect the battery voltage. The steps are as follows: a. Under the normal temperature of the engine, connect a voltmeter to the positive and negative electrodes of the battery, unplug the injector wire, and make The engine cannot be started; b. Start the engine and continue to run for 5-10 seconds while observing the degree of the voltmeter; c. When the starter and the line are well connected, the 12V battery voltage is 9.6V or higher than 9.6V. The battery is in good technical condition; if the voltage is lower than the above value, it means that the battery is in a state of power deficit and the battery is insufficient. 2. Using a hydrometer to detect the amount of power stored in a battery is also a common method. Generally, the standard specific gravity of the electrolyte of a fully charged battery at 20°C is 1.25 to 1.29 kg/L; if the battery is in The electrolyte specific gravity at 20°C is less than the above value. If the battery has insufficient battery capacity if it is greater than 1.06kg/L, it needs to be charged; if the battery has an electrolyte specific gravity of 1.06kg/L or less at 20°C, it means the battery has been completely discharged or damaged. According to this principle, using a hydrometer to measure the specific gravity of the battery electrolyte can know the battery's stored power and further determine the battery's condition. 3. Use a battery tester to detect the amount of power stored in the battery. In daily maintenance and repair, it is really possible to quickly and accurately detect how much power is stored in the battery, or you should use a battery tester. When in use, connect the battery tester to the battery for 10-15 seconds, and keep the voltage at 10.5~11.6V, which means the capacity is sufficient and the battery has no fault; if the voltage stays at 9.6V~10.5V, it means the capacity is insufficient and the battery has no fault; the voltage drops to Below 9.6V, it means that the capacity is severely insufficient or the battery is faulty. The above is just a simple battery tester, which can only measure the battery voltage in a large current discharge state, and roughly judge the battery's storage capacity. At present, the more advanced battery tester can accurately measure the cold start current (CCA) in addition to the start-up discharge, such as the boschbat131 battery tester. The BoschBAT131 battery conductance and electrical system analyzer can test 6V and 12V wet batteries, flat AGM, spiral AGM and gel batteries, as well as 12V and 24V starting and charging systems for passenger cars and light trucks. It displays the test results within a few seconds and supplies the printed results. Disclaimer: Some pictures and content of articles published on this site are from the Internet.
