Factors affecting the performance of alkaline fuel power batteries. Battery performance is directly related to current density and battery voltage. Important factors affecting the performance of 18650 lithium-ion batteries are the number and cost of electrode components (such as catalysts), the type of oxidant (air or pure oxygen), working pressure and temperature, electrolyte concentration, and impurities in fuel gas and oxidant gas. Here, the lithium-ion battery manufacturer Jia Fucheng only briefly introduces the influence of the type of oxidant, the working temperature and the pressure on the battery performance. 1. The influence of oxidant on the performance of AFC AFC test shows that when pure oxygen is used, the performance of oxidant is better than that of air. The reason is that when air is used, other impurities in the atmosphere will also affect the performance of AFC, especially the CO2 in the air. The reason is that CO2 gas is easily absorbed in the alkaline medium to form carbonate, which blocks the electrolyte channel and the pores of the porous electrode. Therefore, the presence of CO2 gas will reduce the long-term stability of AFC. It can be seen that as the use time increases, the influence of CO2 on the electrode potential becomes very obvious. Therefore, AFC with air as the oxidant must be pretreated before it can be removed from the air. 2. The influence of temperature on the performance of AFC The normal working temperature of AFC is about 70℃, from room temperature to 50~60℃, the power increases almost linearly with the increase of electrolyte temperature. Regarding the AFC with different electrolyte concentration and gas pressure, the power changes with the increase of electrolyte temperature. Tests show that under normal pressure, the KOH concentration is 6-7mol-1 and the temperature is 70-80℃, the battery performance is the best. If the concentration of KOH is increased to 8-9mol-1 and the temperature is increased to 90°C, the effect will be better. The bacon battery used for the first time in the Apollo mission to the moon has an operating temperature of 200°C and a pressure greater than 0.4mpa to prevent the electrolyte from boiling. 3. The influence of pressure on the performance of AFC. The new pressure is beneficial to improve the performance of the battery and make the battery more compact. However, the additional pressure has little effect on the electrochemical performance of the battery. In addition, when the battery is operated under higher pressure, materials with high mechanical strength are used, which increases the weight of the battery. When measures are taken to increase the pressure of the reactant, the pressure difference between the gas and the electrolyte should always be kept within the allowable range of the electrode and accessories. Otherwise, gas will rush into the electrolyte area and interfere with the normal operation of the battery. If the gas on both sides enters the electrolyte area at the same time, the danger of hydrogen and oxygen mixed explosion in the electrolyte area may occur.
