Whether it is a drone, an aviation model, or a flying toy airplane, or a high-performance brushless toy car, it usually uses a rate-type lithium-ion battery, which is used in conjunction with a conventional lithium battery There are some differences, and many people have some misunderstandings. Now lithium battery manufacturers analyze the daily use of high-rate power lithium-ion batteries that need to be paid attention to, and how to properly maintain this type of lithium-ion battery. I hope I can give you some reference. Matters needing attention during use: 1) Over-discharge is strictly prohibited. Over-discharge of ordinary lithium batteries during use will damage the capacity, while the over-discharge reaction of rate-type lithium batteries will be more intense. Over-discharge can directly swell or scrap high-rate lithium-ion batteries, and the capacity loss is more serious than ordinary lithium batteries. Generally speaking, in the application of airplane model, overdischarge is not easy to occur, because when the power is exhausted, the state of the aircraft is usually very obvious, but when used in toy cars, it is easy to overdischarge the battery. Strictly speaking, When the toy car is obviously underpowered, the battery should be charged immediately. Whether it is on a model airplane or a brushless high-performance electric vehicle, the lithium battery should be charged when the single voltage of the lithium battery is already lower than 3.6V. Otherwise, over-discharge is very likely to occur. 2) Overcharging is strictly prohibited. The phenomenon of overcharging is very difficult to appear on matching special chargers, because the current charger technology is more and more accurate and reasonable for detecting the battery's full charge state. However, in some programmable On the charger, if the wrong parameters are set by mistake, it is easy to find overcharging. In addition, pay attention when charging the battery. Lithium batteries have three specifications of 3.6V 3.7V 3.85V. The charging parameters of 3.6V and 3.7V can be the same, but compared with the high-voltage version of 3.85V, special attention is required. When this type of high-voltage lithium battery is charged, the full voltage is 4.35V. If the conventional 4.2V battery is charged to 4.35V, the battery is already seriously overcharged. The rate-type lithium battery will become extremely ferocious if it has abnormal reactions after overcharge, such as a violent fire and explosion. 3. It is strictly forbidden to store fully charged. The full charge of ultra-high rate lithium-ion batteries will cause great damage to the battery. Therefore, there is a reserved storage mode charging method on the dedicated model aircraft battery charger. In the storage mode, the charger will stop charging after charging the battery to about 3.85V. In theory, the power at this time is 30%-45%. Around, any lithium battery (except iron-lithium battery) in this ratio battery state is very suitable for long-term storage, and will not cause excessive damage to the lithium battery itself. If the model airplane battery is fully charged and stored, generally within a certain period of time, the battery will bulge due to the excessively high internal ionization activity, and the capacity will be damaged. When the capacity damage reaches a certain level, the entire battery pack will be damaged. Unbalanced, conventional balance chargers on the market may not be able to repair excessive unbalance. After one or two recharges, the battery will eventually fail due to severe imbalance. The entire set of batteries is scrapped, but the 1-4S active balance charger produced by electronics (see Figure 1) can solve this problem. The active balance charger can solve the long-term charging of batteries with any capacity and a combination of new and old batteries. Figure 1 How the active 1-4S balance charger produced by Electronics maintains the model aircraft battery: 1) When the model aircraft is finished flying, remove the battery charging model in time. Do not connect the battery to the model airplane for a long time. In addition to the damage to the aircraft model, it may also cause the over-discharge of the lithium battery. 2) When not in use for a period of time in the future, just charge the battery to about 3.85V and save it. If the battery's dedicated charger does not have the storage mode charging function, you can use a lithium iron phosphate battery charger to charge the battery. Charging, (Note: The full charge state of the lithium iron phosphate battery charger is close to the 30% charging mode voltage of the lithium ion battery, and the two lithium batteries are stopped using the CC-CV method, so the two types of charging The device can be mixed to meet some functions) 3) When the power battery is stored, it should be kept away from metal sharp objects, placed in a ventilated and dry environment, and clean up the dirt and debris on the surface of the battery in advance. 4) In the unused state, avoid metal objects in the socket position. In order to meet the discharge performance of high-rate batteries, there is usually no protection board for conventional lithium batteries for protection, so a short circuit will cause the battery to discharge instantaneously, and this high-rate battery The instantaneous discharge current of this kind of battery is extremely powerful. When this kind of battery is short-circuited and instantaneously discharged, it is very destructive. Disclaimer: Some pictures and content of articles published on this site are from the Internet.
