Daily maintenance: what to check the battery every week

by:Vglory      2021-04-12
Lithium-ion battery maintenance analysis The battery maintenance requirements are clearly defined in the IEEE document 1188 (VRLA battery), which is implemented by technical personnel in accordance with the standard. Any user who strictly abides by the IEEE standard will have a reliable backup battery system. One of the biggest issues involved in maintenance is personnel safety, especially the high-voltage battery in the UPS. People who don't understand Ohm's law are not experts, nor are they those who work with high-voltage batteries. Many newly installed UPS systems use non-isolated transformers, and a ground-to-ground AC voltage appears on each terminal of the battery string, plus there is actually no more space to access the terminals. Therefore, it is extremely dangerous to install UPS cabinets. Maintenance procedures must use a unified data measurement and recording method to allow further analysis of the battery. At the same time, the battery should be replaced. It can be inferred that existing problems and obvious problems in the data system can be found to ensure the safety system of the backup power supply and the supply of necessary evidence for claims. Daily maintenance: The following items should be checked every week for the battery: (1) Use a soft cloth or other similar materials to remove dust on the surface. (2) Check whether the joints are loose, heated, or corroded. Clean up in time and take preventive measures. (3) Whether there is leakage or deformation of the battery shell. (4) Whether there is acid mist escaping around the pole column and safety valve, seal the valve and control battery. (5) Floating charging pressure of the battery pack. (6) When the float pressure of each monomer is lower than 2.18v, the battery should be charged evenly. (7) Check the ambient temperature every day and adjust the floating charging pressure in time. It is best to use a power supply with automatic temperature compensation. For accurate data, please refer to the data supplied by the battery manufacturer. Quarterly and annual maintenance of internal resistance and resistance test battery resistance and connection resistance of a single module, the internal resistance and connection resistance should be measured quarterly; if the battery is used for more than 4 years, the test cycle should be shortened by half. The measured resistance value is significantly higher than the previous one or close to the failure judgment value, which is close to 1.25 times the base value. When the test period reaches or exceeds one-half or one-quarter of the reference value, a complete set of capacity test or power loss test should be carried out. When the average internal resistance of the entire battery is close to or exceeds the base value, a single charge and discharge test should be carried out. When the internal resistance of the single cell exceeds 50% of the basic value in the activation test, the battery should be replaced without hesitation. Regarding the unconditional capacity test or activation test, use the system to perform a short-term, half-hour charge and discharge test under system safety conditions. Measure the internal resistance again. If the failure limit is exceeded, the battery should be replaced. If the above test is carried out unconditionally, the monomer whose internal resistance reaches or exceeds the failure value should be replaced immediately. The principle of internal resistance matching should be considered when replacing the battery. When the number of batteries is greater than 10% and a battery with better internal resistance cannot be found, the entire battery pack must be replaced. Sealed valve-controlled batteries should be fully tested or deeply discharged at least once a year. When the average value of the internal resistance of the whole group is equal to or exceeds the failure limit, a complete volume test shall be carried out. When the internal resistance of the monomer is equal to or greater than the failure limit, the capacity and activation of the monomer must be carried out. Special maintenance: If the battery has abnormal conditions (such as work discharge, overcharge or high ambient temperature, etc.), it should be tested. To ensure that the battery pack is not damaged. The inspection content is the same as the annual inspection. Tips: The battery is an indispensable power supply device in life. Please take care of it to facilitate the convenience of life! Statement: Some pictures and content of the articles published on this site are from the Internet.
