Reduce UPS battery failure rate Habo battery teaches you how to reduce UPS battery failure rate. Lithium battery is a professional analysis of UPS power supply industry. Correct use and protection of UPS power supply battery is one of the key factors to extend battery life and reduce UPS power failure rate. The life extension of UPS batteries is not only concerned about the use of protection, but also the choice of load characteristics and size should be fully considered to prevent UPS battery discharge current from being too small, leading to battery waste. Recommendations for reducing the defective rate of UPS power batteries: 1. Inspection time: timely check the terminal voltage and internal resistance of the UPS power batteries of each unit. For the 12V battery cell, it is assumed that the difference in battery terminal voltage of each cell exceeds 0.4V or the resistance exceeds 800,000. Each battery charge should be balanced to restore the internal resistance of the battery and eliminate the imbalance between the battery terminal voltage and each cell. The charging voltage can reach 13.5~13.8v when charging is equalized. The internal resistance of the UPS battery can be restored to below 30 meters through the most beautiful balanced charging process of the UPS battery. 2. Head floating charge: UPS power supply should be turned off for more than 10 days. Before starting from scratch, it is recommended to use the charging circuit of the electronic products in the machine, and use UPS power to charge the battery from scratch for more than 10-12 hours. We found that after 1 month of storage at room temperature of 20°C, the usage capacity of the UPS battery is about 97% of its rated capacity. Assuming not to store for 6 months, change its available capacity to 80% of the rated capacity. Assuming that the storage temperature increases, the usable capacity decreases. Therefore, it is recommended that the user deliberately unplug the power input every 20C months to make the UPS power supply work with the battery powering the inverter. However, this operation should not be too long. When the load is about 30% of the rated output, the discharge is about 10 minutes. 3. Reduce the depth of discharge: When the UPS power supply battery is in a power supply interruption state, the battery is supplied to the inverter. Most UPS power supplies will emit a periodic alarm sound of gap4s to notify the user that the battery is now charged. When the alarm sound becomes shorter, it indicates that the power supply is in a deep discharge state, and emergency treatment should be carried out immediately, and the UPS power supply should be turned off. It is not necessary. Generally, do not let the UPS power supply run until the battery voltage is too low and the automatic shutdown is over. 4. Power peak charging: for the user's UPS battery in a low-voltage power supply or power failure for a long period of time, in order to prevent premature damage to the battery due to long-term insufficient charging and peak power supply (such as midnight), the rechargeable battery should be fully utilized to ensure the battery Satisfactory charging time after each discharge. Under normal circumstances, after the battery is deeply discharged, it must be charged at least with 90% of the rated capacity for 10-12 hours. 5. Ensure the ambient temperature of the power supply: The effective capacity of the upstream power supply battery is closely related to the ambient temperature. Generally speaking, the performance parameters of the battery are calibrated at a room temperature of 20°C. When the temperature is lower than 20, the battery capacity will decrease, and when the temperature is higher than 20, the battery capacity will increase slightly. UPS batteries of different manufacturers have different effects on temperature. According to statistics, at -20, the battery can only reach about 60% of the rated capacity. It can be seen that the influence of temperature cannot be ignored. Disclaimer: Some pictures and content of articles published on this site are from the Internet.
