What tips should be paid attention to when designing lithium batteries?

by:Vglory      2021-03-06
1. The lithium battery uses switching elements. When the internal temperature of the battery rises, the resistance value rises accordingly, and the discharge stops when the temperature is too high, so as to beware of over-discharge. 2. Set the battery vent on the structure. When the internal pressure of the battery rises to a certain level, the vent will automatically open to keep the internal pressure level to guard against the situation that the internal pressure imbalance causes the battery to burst. 3. Optimize the electrolyte system. At present, the main electrolyte on the market is mainly an organic solvent, which is difficult to withstand high voltages above 4.5V, and it is easy to analyze the occurrence of gas, causing the battery to swell and burst; therefore, develop low-solvent or solvent-free polymer electrolytes and organic solvents. Inorganic composite electrolyte is the best way to improve battery safety. When we design products that require lithium batteries, we must design the protection circuit for the lithium battery, and then we can design the charging circuit on this basis. We will know that lithium batteries need to be protected from over-voltage charging, over-voltage discharge, over-current discharge, and short-circuit protection. So when we design the lithium battery protection circuit, we must at least realize the above protection functions. The design of the lithium battery charger should have an adaptive power path management function. When the power consumption of the system exceeds the supply limit of the input power, the lithium battery can actively activate the discharge function and supply its required power to the system. The charger consumes little electrode. When the battery is lower than 3V, the internal IC should preset the current at 10% of the set charging current. The lithium battery charger IC should have active power path management. This power path management requires real-time adjustment of the lithium battery charging current when the load end current is loaded/unloaded, and the effective monitoring and management is in line with the current limit and the USB-IF specification. Requirements for soft activation function. Disclaimer: Some pictures and content of the articles published on this site are from the Internet. If there is any infringement, please contact to delete.
