What should I pay attention to when using electric car chargers?

Electric vehicle charger is one of the basic accessories of electric vehicle, and the charger often directly affects the life and endurance of the battery. So, what should I pay attention to when using the charger? 1. Don't change the original charger at will. The charger parameters of different models are basically different. Most people don’t know the charger. If the charger is broken, just change a charger at will If you don’t know how much damage it will cause to the battery, don’t change the charger at will when you’re not sure. First, determine the battery voltage V of the electric vehicle, or the output voltage of the original charger. Look at the battery to judge the voltage: Generally, there are several batteries in a battery pack. The model is 6-DZM-12/20, which is 6, which means that each battery is 12V. So, you see how many batteries in your own electric car, 4 batteries are 48V. For 8-DZM-12/20 batteries, each battery is 16V, and 4 batteries are 64V. Secondly, determine the battery capacity AH of the electric vehicle battery or the output current of the original charger. 1. Look at the original charger to determine the capacity: the output current of the original charger is 1.8A, indicating that the battery is 12AH. 2. Look at the battery to determine the voltage: Generally, the battery in the battery box has a written model, such as 6-DZM-12, 12 means a 12AH battery, 6-DZM-20, 20 means a 20AH battery. 3. Judging by the mileage of a single charge: Generally speaking, a battery of about 1 year, a full charge of 25-40 kilometers at a time, a 12AH charger is more suitable. For those running 45-60 kilometers, 20AH is more suitable. Finally, determine the positive and negative shape of the charger interface of the electric vehicle. There are 4 kinds of common interfaces in the market, T-shaped product header, three vertical product header, middle horizontal product header, and round header. Second, do not buy low-priced inferior chargers When the battery is saturated, the fan of the inferior charger stops working and no longer dissipates heat. When the battery is overcharged, if the cooling fan stops working, the temperature of the charger will increase exponentially, which will not only burn the charger, but also cause a short circuit and fire in severe cases. Generally speaking, there are 4 reasons for battery damage: water loss, vulcanization, imbalance, thermal runaway (charging drum). The first two accounted for almost 97% of battery damage in the market. The charging mode is different, and the water loss is also different. Therefore, it is guaranteed to choose high-quality brand chargers that have passed national inspections. 3. The charger cannot be violently bumped. Electrical appliances are basically not resistant to strong vibration. Strong vibration may cause the potentiometer inside the charger to drift, causing the charger to charge abnormally, or even cause an accident. Therefore, the charger is generally not to be placed in the trunk and basket of an electric vehicle. If you really want to carry it, you should wrap the buffer and place it in the tool box on the car to avoid bumps and vibrations caused by the charger. Four. Pay attention to the charging environment Currently, electric vehicle chargers are designed according to the ambient temperature of 25℃, so charging at 25℃ is better. When the ambient temperature is really at 25°C, it is relatively low, so there will inevitably be the problem of overcharging in summer and undercharging in winter. Charging is also a process of exothermic heat. It is best to arrange the battery and charger to charge in a ventilated indoor environment. 5. Nothing is covered on the charger The heat dissipation of the charger is helpful for charging safety and the life of the charger. Therefore, do not cover with clothing, quilts and other items when charging, which may cause fire. During the charging process, you must always keep in mind the manufacturer’s instructions and strictly follow them, especially when it comes to charging time. Don’t think that the longer the time, the greater the capacity. If the time is too long, it will damage the battery and shorten the life of some components of the charger. , And even cause a fire.
