What factors affect the service life of lead-acid batteries

by:Vglory      2021-03-28
Temperature has a greater impact on lead-acid batteries, too high or too low will lead to a decline in battery life, especially high temperature, the impact on battery life is particularly clear. Generally speaking, the ambient temperature should be controlled at about 25°C. ⒉Depth of discharge The depth of discharge has a great influence on the service life of lead-acid batteries. The greater the depth of battery discharge, the less the number of cycles it uses, so beware of deep discharge as much as possible when using it. Discharge of small current is easy to cause deep discharge. ⒊Float charging voltage Since the UPS battery is a standby mode of operation, the mains is in a charging state under normal conditions, and it will only be discharged when the power is cut off. In order to prolong the service life of lead-acid batteries, the float voltage must be set reasonably. Too low floating charge voltage will lead to insufficient charging and irreversible sulfation of the negative electrode of the battery; too high floating charge voltage will accelerate water loss and corrosion of the positive plate.
