Therefore, electronic grade lithium carbonate can only be imported from many foreign countries. Because of the large amount of imports, domestic companies have no pricing power at all, and foreign manufacturers have the final say. In terms of skills, the development of lithium iron phosphate in my country is basically synchronized with the international development, but there is no real leading company in the country, and there is a shortage of original and innovative skills. At present, there are three companies that are in the leading position in the operation of lithium iron phosphate batteries in the world, namely, Gaobo (A123) and Valence (Valence) in the United States and Phostech (Phostech) in Canada. Lithium iron phosphate skills are regarded as strategic skills abroad, and governments such as the United States and Canada have spared no effort to participate in the establishment of skills barriers with national strength. In the field of lithium iron phosphate materials, there are two central technology patents, one of which is the technology of coating carbon, and the other is the technology of carbon heat recovery. The former has the exclusive right of use by Canadian Fosterco, and has already applied for a patent in my country. The latter’s patent rights are owned by the United States Gaobo Company, and currently there is no patent application in my country, but the company has now established two companies in Gusu, responsible for the production of lithium iron phosphate materials and battery manufacturing. The central patent for lithium iron phosphate batteries is held by several foreign companies. The transfer of foreign company patents to Chinese companies will face high patent allowance fees, which constitutes a huge potential threat to the industry. If you want to get out of the low-end and forced position in the industrial chain, you must do your best from three aspects: first, through technology development and then accelerating domestic lithium iron phosphate patent applications. The second is to lay out around the central patents of foreign companies in the periphery. The third is to enhance the research on battery structure design and battery pack operation.
