What are the disadvantages of all solid-state batteries

Disadvantages of all-solid-state batteries ①The cost of all-solid-state batteries at this stage is much higher than that of other types of batteries. As an emerging battery technology, it has not been used in mass-produced vehicles. Regarding liquid lithium-ion batteries, there is no complete industrial chain. From the perspective of battery processing and preparation technology, it is still relatively complicated, and the technology is not mature. ②The rate performance of the all-solid-state battery is generally low, and the internal resistance is relatively large. The all-solid-state battery uses polymers, oxides, and sulfides. Three kinds of all-solid-state electrolyte materials, and the disadvantage of these three kinds of all-solid-state electrolyte materials is low ionic conductivity. Once the ion conductivity is low, the internal resistance will increase, resulting in a slow charging speed. This will make it difficult to achieve fast charging. ③The cost is still high, the preparation process is not mature enough, and the battery service data collection is not comprehensive. It is a consensus in the industry that all-solid-state batteries are an important development direction in the future, but their technology is still far from being mature, and companies are working hard to explore suitable preparation technologies. In fact, it is not difficult to find that the two core issues of electrolyte manufacturing for all-solid-state batteries and solid-solid interface optimization are enough to make the preparation technology of batteries quite different from traditional lithium-ion batteries.
