Lead-acid battery (VRLA) is a battery in which the electrodes are mainly made of lead and its oxides, and the electrolyte is a sulfuric acid solution. In the discharge state of a lead-acid battery, the important component of the positive electrode is lead dioxide, and the important component of the negative electrode is lead; in the charged state, the important components of the positive and negative electrodes are lead sulfate. ●Lithium ion battery ●Lithium ion battery is a kind of battery that uses lithium ion metal or lithium ion alloy as negative electrode material and uses non-aqueous electrolyte solution. Lithium-ion batteries can be roughly divided into two categories: lithium-ion metal batteries and lithium-ion batteries. In 1912, the lithium ion metal battery was first proposed and studied by Gilbert N. Lewis. Due to the very active chemical properties of lithium ion metal, the production, storage and use of lithium ion metal have very high environmental requirements. Therefore, lithium-ion batteries have not been used for a long time. With the development of science and technology, lithium-ion batteries have now become the mainstream. Lithium-ion battery VS. Lead-acid battery Li-ion battery advantages ★Small size and light weight, compared with lead-acid batteries, the volume of lithium-ion batteries is 2/3 of lead-acid batteries, and the weight is about 1/3 of lead-acid batteries. Lithium-ion batteries of the same volume have a higher capacity than lead-acid batteries, and the reduction in weight increases the endurance of electric vehicles by about 10%. ★In terms of charging and discharging, lithium-ion batteries are more durable than lead-acid batteries. When used at room temperature, lithium-ion batteries can be continuously charged for 48 hours without battery swelling, leakage, and rupture. The capacity remains above 95%. And under the special charger, it can charge and discharge quickly. Deep charge and deep discharge more than 500 times, and there is still no memory, and the general life span is basically about 4 to 5 years. Disadvantages of lithium-ion batteries ★The production cost of lithium-ion batteries is high, and the production equipment is expensive. The labor cost accounts for about 40% of the production cost, and the price is about three times that of lead-acid batteries. ★The recycling value of lithium-ion batteries is not high. Usually, lithium-ion batteries can only be thrown away when they are worn out, and cannot be recycled and reused. Advantages of lead-acid batteries ★Low price, recyclable and reusable. After being worn out, the old can be exchanged for a new one. By making up the price difference, a new set of batteries can be replaced to minimize the loss. ★Strong ability to resist hitting, even if it is broken, it can be used continuously even if it is repaired a little bit. Disadvantages of lithium-ion batteries ★The volume and weight of lead-acid batteries are very large. The weight is generally 16-30kg. Under normal circumstances, the deep charge and deep discharge are within 400 times, with memory, and the service life is about 1-2 years.
