From 2003 to 2011, the number of applicants increased rapidly. From 2012 to 2013, the number of patent applications declined, which was related to the undisclosed number of patent applications. Invention patent applications account for a large proportion of the number of patent applications, and their changing trend with age is basically the same as that of the number of applications. Before 2002, the number of utility model patent applications was very small, and it was not until 2009 that it began to rise rapidly. The decline in the number of utility model patent applications in 2013 may also be related to the undisclosed part of the applications. It can be seen from Figure 1 that utility model patent applications are mainly filed by domestic applicants. The changing trend of the number of patent applications for lithium battery separators reflects the development of lithium battery manufacturing technology to a certain extent, especially the increase in the scale of domestic lithium battery processing. Early lithium batteries were mainly used in 3C products, and the demand for lithium battery separators was relatively simple. The processing of lithium battery separators was mainly monopolized by several foreign manufacturers. The development of dynamic lithium batteries puts forward higher requirements on the separators of lithium batteries. Since 2002, my country has gradually become an important processing country for lithium batteries. Domestic companies have also begun to develop and process lithium battery separators, and related patent applications have also been added. 3. Regional distribution of application programs In order to know the status of foreign applicants applying for lithium battery diaphragm patents in my country, statistics are made based on the country of origin of patent applicants. The statistical results are shown in Figure 4. It can be seen from Figure 4 that most of the applications for lithium battery separators abroad come from Et, and the number of patent applications is 570, accounting for 58% of the number of foreign applications. South Korea, the United States and Germany received 176,123 and 77 applications respectively. The rest came from France, Italy, Canada, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, but the number was not large. The distribution of domestic applicants is calculated according to the province (city) where the domestic applicants are located, and the results are shown in Table 1. As can be seen from Table 1, patent applications for lithium battery separators in my country are mainly concentrated in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Beijing and Tianjin. The number of applications in Guangdong Province is 410, which is significantly higher than other regions. In addition, 12 provinces including Shandong, Fujian and Henan also have a certain number of patent applications for lithium battery separators, while the number of applications in 9 provinces (regions) including Hebei and Jilin is less than 10.
