Three charging modes for electric vehicle batteries At present, the construction progress of electric vehicle charging facilities has seriously affected the large-scale promotion and application of electric vehicles in my country. Through the analysis and research of domestic and foreign electric vehicle charging modes and household distributed energy storage modes, this paper proposes technical methods that can effectively alleviate and solve the difficulties of electric vehicle charging. The important battery of electric vehicles is lithium battery. There are three traditional charging methods: fast charging and fast changing battery packs. Electric vehicle charging 1) Normal charging (slow charging) mode. Ordinary AC power charging is the most commonly used charging method for electric vehicles. When charging, the current and power are low, and the charging time is generally 5 to 8 hours, which has little effect on the battery life and the power grid. Using the valley power period at night to charge the vehicle can reduce the cost of electricity. However, due to the long charging time, it is necessary to configure a charger with AC/DC conversion function. Charging takes a long time in the parking space. When the vehicle has an emergency power supply demand, it is difficult to meet the needs of the vehicle owner. 2) Fast (emergency) charging mode. Through the DC charging pile, the vehicle can be quickly charged with high current, and the battery storage capacity can reach more than 80% within 10-15 minutes. Charging stations generally need to be equipped with charging piles to convert AC power from the grid into DC power through a converter device in the charging station system to charge electric vehicles. The high current of the high charging voltage can usually be several times or even ten times of the conventional charging current, and the charging time is relatively short. Fast charging reduces the cycle life of power lithium-ion batteries. When vehicles are charged centrally, it will have a certain impact on the power grid. Cars usually need to be charged at nearby charging stations, which can be used as a supplement to traditional charging methods. 3) Battery swap mode. Directly replace the used battery with a fully charged battery pack. The time required to replace the battery pack is 5-10 minutes, which makes up for the long charging time of the electric vehicle to a certain extent. Power lithium-ion batteries can usually be leased to reduce the initial purchase cost. The replaced power lithium-ion battery has sufficient maintenance time and can be charged during off-peak hours, which is of positive significance for improving the cycle life of the battery and reducing the cost of power consumption. However, due to the different sizes and uses of various electric vehicles, there are also many differences in design, so it is difficult to achieve the standardization, uniformity and universalization of battery pack serialization. The replacement method requires the construction of a standard replacement station and a large number of spare batteries. There are problems such as large demand for land, long construction period, and large capital investment. This mode is only applicable to specific vehicles operating within specific route sections, and its scope of application is very limited.
